Evolane signs golden partnership with HOGENT
From the classroom to the workplace: we are joining forces to give IT talent every opportunity.
On Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, Evolane participated as one of three gold year partners in the job and internship fair organized by HOGENT. The location? The ICC in Ghent.
With a clear focus on juniors and interns, it was a unique opportunity to connect with the digital talents of tomorrow — and we made the most of it.
The fair not only offered a platform to highlight our job openings and company culture, but also to truly engage in conversation with young IT talent. We shared stories about our projects, listened to their ambitions, and presented live demos of concrete solutions we’re developing at Evolane.
This way, students gained insight not only into what we do, but also how we do it: pragmatic, innovative, and impactful.
What exactly does a golden year partnership entail?
Both during and after the fair, we could benefit from an extensive package of visibility and engagement opportunities. This allows Evolane to remain actively involved in education and student initiatives, including:
- Priority for guest lectures: We are given the opportunity to share our expertise with students through guest lectures on current IT topics.
- Possibility to propose student projects: We can submit real-world project cases for student teams to work on — a great way to link our practical experience to their learning journey.
- Participation in curriculum discussions: We actively contribute to the development of the academic programs, ensuring an even better alignment with the needs of the professional field.
- Visibility at graduation ceremonies: Our name remains present during official diploma award ceremonies, further strengthening our profile as an attractive employer.
- Logo on all communications: Evolane continues to be featured in HOGENT’s future communications around internships, alumni activities, and events — both online and offline.
- Rotating banners in the IT networking room and IT lab on campus: Thanks to digital displays on the main campuses, we maintain constant visibility among students, even outside of events.
Observability and security demos caught the attention
During the fair, we introduced students not only to our company culture and job opportunities, but more importantly, to our technology. We showcased live demos of several concrete applications.
Dylan, our observability expert, gave students a hands-on introduction to the Dynatrace observability platform. These topics were covered:
- General introduction to Dynatrace: An overview of what Dynatrace is and how it helps organizations with monitoring and observability.
- Smartscape: Explanation of the visual topology that displays the entire application and infrastructure architecture in real time.
- Traces: Insight into how Dynatrace uses end-to-end tracing to visualize the full user journey and underlying transactions.
- Live Debugger: Demonstration of how to debug in live production environments without downtime.
- Dynatrace AppSec: Discussion of the built-in application security features, with a focus on real-time vulnerability detection.
Our security expert Dave gave the students a unique look into Akamai’s security platform:
- Real-time attack monitoring.
- Configuration and mitigation capabilities with a focus on proactive security.
- Performance optimizations.
- Phishing examples and how we detect and proactively combat them.
The students were clearly impressed by how theory came to life in practice, leading to valuable conversations about methods, tools, and how we at Evolane collaborate to build digital solutions.
